Our Artists who host and run our Painting Experience events consistently amaze customers across the Delmarva and Baltimore areas (& beyond), with not only their instructing skills, but also with how they entertain their crowds! This position involves much more than teaching a group how to paint – it requires the perfect balance of performing/entertaining, and showing “anyone” how to create a beautiful piece of artwork, while having a blast doing it!

Required Duties:

  • Be the MC / Host of both public and private, in-studio and out-of-studio Painting Experience events.

  • Clearly and concisely articulate instructions to guests so they can leave with a finished product that they’re proud of, in about 2 hours.

  • Manage the flow of the experience while providing individual support to guests as needed.

  • Display a high level of professionalism at all times with a variety of group sizes and types, ensuring clients have an excellent experience with T.C. Studios.

  • Have the availability to work additional hours on special projects and prep, as needed (For example, pre-sketching canvases, or helping prepare materials in the studio before events).

  • Occasionally drive supplies to and/or from venues and our studio, for which we compensate
    you hourly for the time you’ve spent driving. (only applicable if you own a car)

  • Occasionally be scheduled to execute an experience by yourself, where you will be expected to maintain a high level of quality while entertaining up to approximately 30 guests on your own.

  • Be able to take photos of guests having fun, as well as upload and share those photos onto our social media platforms.

  • Occasionally work as an assistant to another lead instructor/host at your Manager’s discretion.

  • Maintain a 5-star rating in our frequent, random customer survey’s and online customer reviews / recommendations:

  • Be available for at least 2 shifts/parties per week, or more.

  • Be evaluated every 90 days to ensure you are meeting performance standards, and be available to attend team meetings and occasional trainings, without compensation.

  • Be scheduled for a minimum of 4-hours per event, or longer, depending upon the type of event.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience instructing groups of some kind, preferably painting, with at least one reference.

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree is required.

  • Must love teamwork, but also have an independent, entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Proficient in sketching “on the spot”, quickly.

  • Proficient in decorative writing/script (and being able to do it quickly).

  • Being able to patiently guide guests step-by-step through a painting, and helping GUIDE them through fixing their paintings if an issue arrises.

  • Proficient in painting with acrylic paint on stretched canvas, as well as (preferably), glassware & other surfaces.

  • Able to lift 50+ pounds.

  • Experience in the entertainment and service industries is also a PLUS.

  • Age requirement: 21+
